Intended to honor the legacy of the Civic Type R as it exits the European market

The Honda Civic Type R is being withdrawn from the UK and European markets due to increasingly strict regulations, concluding its 28-year production run with a new special edition.
The Ultimate Edition is designed to honor the legacy of the Civic Type R, it features the iconic Championship White paint, accented with red racing stripes that echo the model’s classic interior color.
Inside, you'll find numerous carbon fiber elements, including on the door skid plates and around the center console.

Honda announced that it will remove the Type R from its lineup in 2026 because "the industry is changing and our model range must adapt to comply with European legislation."
The model is among Honda's higher polluters, emitting 189g/km of CO2 compared to the 114g/km produced by the regular Civic. The brand's limited electric vehicle sales (with the e:Ny1 being the only electric model in its lineup) are unlikely to sufficiently offset the high sales of the Civic Type R.
Meanwhile, GSR2 includes a provision that allows non-compliant cars with fewer than 1,500 annual sales to remain available until July 2026. This coincides with the end of European availability for the Civic Type R.

The Current Model boasts a 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC engine, delivering 325 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 171 mph. The Type R also features a 6-speed manual transmission and various driving modes.

The price has not been disclosed yet, but it's expected to be significantly higher than the standard Civic Type R (£48,900).
A total of 40 units will be produced, with 10 allocated for the UK. According to Honda, these will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
